Hide Preparation
Spread skin out flat, with flesh side up, as soon as possible after removal.
Remove any excess tallow and flesh and place on an incline if possible. Cover the flesh side with non-iodized salt to the edges. Failure to properly care for the hide can result in poor quality leather.
Let the hide drain. If you have more than one hide you may salt one on top of the other, flesh side up.
After the moisture has drained out of the hides they are ready for shipment.
Shipping Instructions
Fold salted hide(s) flesh side in and roll into a bundle. Place into a bag or box for shipment (Send via UPS or Parcel Post. Please ship pre-paid).
Enclose tanning instructions (complete Shipping Form). We suggest that you place these instructions in a plastic bag so they will not be damaged by moisture during shipping.
