Deerskin is soft leather that averages 8-12 sq. ft. per hide. This is a game hide so there may be some grain blemishes and scaring or holes that are characteristics of this type of hide. See grading chart for description of quality.

Elk is a game animal with a more durable, thicker feel than deer. Much like the deer, Elk often have grain blemishes, scaring or holes. Please refer to the grading chart before placing an order. Hides average 18-25 sq. ft. Elk are used for heavier garments and craft projects.

Grade A
Best grain and presents even color. There may be minimal defects such as holes or marks near the sides of the hide. Good for garments and larger projects using quality leather.
Grade B
Grade B There will be some holes, marks on the hide. Color variations may exist. Good projects such as bags, purses or large craft projects.
Grade C
Grade C May have a number of holes or marks and color variation. Excellent for small craft projects, fringe or small bags, walking stick covers etc.
